Not sure what is wrong with your network? Before
you buy an expensive replacement, test your cables. With this
Category 5e continuity tester, you can automatically test cables
for shorts, open connections, crossed wire pairs and continuity.
This particular multi modular cable tester tests JR45 TIA568A
and TIA 568B (AT&T 258A), 10 Base-T, Token ring, RJ-11, RJ-12,
USOC and Coaxial BNC cables. Coaxial cable port helps identify
cable conditions including shorts, shiled opens and center conductor
breaks. Included is the main unit as well as a remote unit, which
allows one person testing. Cables are not included, nor is the
required 1 9V battery. This tool is extremely helpful in verifying
when wiring is correct end to end, when cable isn’t damaged
and when the connector isn’t defective. This multi modular
cable tester is especially useful if you make your own patch cables
and want to test and make sure the wires are correctly assigned.
Simply insert the battery, turn the tester on and connect one
end of the cable to the main unit and the other end to the remote
side. The lights will indicate any red flags, if any, with the
wires in the cable. This product is a great investment for anyone
participating in installing network connections.
